Welcome to the Members Section
Surname Research - this page allows you to enter the surnames you are researching. It will present a list of other members who have entered their surnames. You can then perform a search, and it will list members who have the same surnames. You can then contact the other members to share information and to see if you have the same lines.
Genealogical Education Videos - These videos are recordings made during live broadcast sessions and are archived here with the permission of each presenter. This catalog has been divided into global categories and the videos are sorted accordingly. Each of the categories contains a table of the relevant videos, a link to that video and a link to any handout associated with the video.
On-Demand Educational Videos - This is part of the Thomas MacEntee’s GenSocSoup Subscription Channel and is hosted on a secure, private Vimeo platform, ensuring dependable streaming and easy access. The videos provided here are 30-45 minutes sessions designed to go beyond surface level tutorials. They include Step-by-step how-to instruction, real-world examples and case studies, and detailed, 4-page (minimum) PDF handouts—packed with resources, actionable guidance, and follow-up tools for learners. These comprehensive materials ensure that participants walk away with skills they can immediately apply.
The old favorites are:
Quarterly Magazine - this page will have the issues of Ansearchin' News for the last 10 years. These are only available to members. For all previous years' issues, you can select the public page for the magazine - Ansearchin' News
Digital Books - this page contains electronic copies of publications which the Society at one time had for sale. We have discontinued sales on these but now make these available to you at no cost.
Presentations - these are PowerPoint files or PDFs of PowerPoint. The files are of education sessions which have previously been conducted by Society members. With most presentations, there are supplemental files available in the Society office on our computers.
