The Tennessee Genealogical Society is an all-volunteer organization. Whether it be our Board members, library aides, teachers, writers or technologists, we all pitch in to help. There are many ways you can help your society meet the mission of the organization. Please review the opportunities listed below and become part of the team. Fill out the Volunteer Form, and either email it to tngs@tngs.org or mail it into our office.
Society Office -- answering voicemails, distributing postal mail, preserving historical records
Publishing -- assist with preparing magazine and newsletter, reviewing books, writing feature articles, typing and transcribing records
Public Relations -- supporting social media, making media contacts, photography
Genealogy Research -- assisting with research requests and Tennessee Certificates, reviewing queries, performing cemetery census
Education -- teaching a genealogy class, writing articles on tips and techniques
Sales -- assisting sales director, copying books for sale, producing DVDs for sale, preparing orders for shipment
Events -- helping with set up and take down, registration, food & drinks, handouts
Technology -- system administration, audio/video, scanning and digitizing, GoToMeeting
