“Roots of Faith: Using Catholic Church Records in Genealogy”

Join us as we welcome Ann T. Bollin, who will explore how sacramental and other records of the Catholic Church can provide researchers with a wealth of knowledge about their family history. This talk will also look at the fascinating influence Catholicism has had on the colonization, and culture of Louisiana and how the historic record illustrates this influence.
Mrs. Boltin has worked for the Diocese of Baton Rouge in the Archives Department since 2003. She was named Diocesan Archivist & Records Manager in 2007 and appointed Chancellor in September 2020 by Bishop Michael Duca. She holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Master of Library and Information Science from L.S.U. in Baton Rouge. Ann has been a member of the Academy of Certified Archivists since 2005. She is an active member of the Society of American Archivists (SAA), the Society of Southwest Archivists (SSA), the Association of Record Managers and Administrators (ARMA) and the Association of Catholic Diocesan Archivists (ACDA) where she served as President from 2014-2017. In 2021, Ann was appointed to the Advisory Board for the Louisiana State Archives in by Governor John Bel Edwards.
